Register a New Organization with the Illinois Environmental Education Database

What is Environmental Education?
Environmental education is a life-long process of discovering and understanding the interdependence between humans and the environment. The purpose of environmental education is to foster environmental literacy-to develop a citizenry that is aware of and concerned about the environment and its associated problems and that has the knowledge, skills, attitudes, motivations, and commitment to work individually and collectively toward solutions for current problems and the prevention of new ones.

In order to facilitate access to environmental education services and materials, the Environmental Education Association of Illinois (EEAI) is collecting information on environmental organizations, resources and programs offered within the state. To register your organization or resource, just follow these easy steps!

To Register Your Organization/Resource:

  1. Check to make sure your organization/resource is not already included in the directory by using the organizational search.
  2. If you do not find your organization/resource listed, please use the Filter (below) to determine whether or not your organization/resource meets the criteria for quality environmental education. Your registration will be reviewed and you will be notified when it has been approved.

In order to maintain a standard of quality for the database, answer the following questions. If you answer "yes" to any of these, your organization/resource would not be appropriate for this interactive environmental education database. Materials included in this online directory are subject to approval by the Environmental Education Association of Illinois. Does the organization/resource
